This thriving little city of 23 thousand, world-renown for boating, fishing, and hiking along the Wild & Scenic Rogue River, is really coming into its own in the arts and culture scene.

On the first Friday of every month, “First Friday Art Night” promotes the visual, literary and performing arts of the Rogue Valley in a comfy, hometown atmosphere.
For five weeks beginning in May, the town is host to a mix of festivities...a special antique & collectibles street fair, art exhibits, flower shows, golf tournaments, and every Memorial Day weekend, the “Boatnik Festival” brings thousands out to enjoy the parade, the fairs and the thrilling 35-mile hydro jetboat races! Every summer, more than just racehorses kick up their heels at Grants Pass Downs.
The last weekend in July, it’s “Back to the 50’s” as over 600 classic cars and hundreds of motorcycles take to the streets!

One of Grants Pass’s most popular annual events..."Art Along the Rogue". Art and river activities take center-stage during this 2-day festival…from pastel chalk-art on the street to displays of beautiful, framed prints and originals. A juried art exhibit and sale plus new public art pieces! The 7th annual “Art Along the Rogue” kicks off on the First Friday in October in downtown Grants Pass.

Something VERY unique in downtown Grants Pass this holiday season, and well worth seeing....the fibre-optic dazzle of 18 magical, musical, Christmas murals! These 10-foot-tall panels are wired with miles of fibre-optic cables and thousands of points of light that flow and blink so that snow falls, bells ring, gifts collect under the tree, and aurora borealis shimmers in the night sky. Each mural takes about 30 seconds to tell its story. The murals are clustered along 6th and 7th Sts. in downtown Grants Pass. Bundle up the family and take a tour on this easy, one-mile loop. It’ll be a night to remember!

Orange Torpedo Whitewater Trips
Orange Torpedo Trips has been guiding trips on the river for over 40 years with their custom-made inflatable kayaks, specially designed to ride over the waves rather than crash through them. For those who’d prefer something less strenuous, guests can paddle in an Orange Torpedo paddle raft or ride in an oarboat. At the end of a day running world-famous whitewater on the Lower Rogue, expect historic lodges, sumptuous meals, a hot shower and a comfy bed! Orange Torpedos has many other river adventure options to choose from; the most kid-friendly float is on the middle section of the Rogue near Galice, just outside of Grants Pass. There are numerous spots along the Rogue River to start or end a day trip on the water. One of the most well-known is Galice Resort, about 20 miles downtstream from Grants Pass. Galice offers guided day trips or you can rent any of the items you’ll need if you want to stage your own excursion; rafts, kayaks, lifejackets, paddles...and they’ll also shuttle your entire group and all your gear to help get you on and off the water. Same goes for fishing trips! And the shuttles include the permit-only, Wild & Scenic section of the Rogue. If you’re looking for an entertaining place to visit, Galice is well worth the short drive from Grants Pass. The store and restaurant are filled with relics of the area’s colorful past.
