The colorful little town of Jacksonville, only 5 miles west of Medford, was founded during the great glory days of the Gold Rush. It’s a living example of our history here in the West.
The 1850’s architecture qualified the whole town to be on the National Register of Historic Places of which there are only 8 in the entire country. Walking tours are extremely popular here.
Wonderful restaurants & boutiques line the Old West streets and the style of lodging is intimate and friendly. Plenty of B&Bs dot the town and surrounding countryside.
The crowning glory of Jacksonville is the Britt Music Festival, a summer attraction with world-renown headline entertainment under the stars!
Over 300 acres of nature trails wind their way through the undeveloped hillsides that form Jacksonville’s scenic, historic backdrop. Hike along the creek where gold was first discovered or through mine tailings on a self guided tour of Jacksonville's historic mining past.
Beyond Jacksonville in the picturesque countryside of the Applegate Valley. Here you can explore award-winning wineries, visit llama and alpaca farms, or discover a region that’s virtually limitless in its outdoor recreation possibilities.
