About Us

The creators of Southern Oregon Travelogue are two local, independent producers.  Gayle Wilson and Arlis Duncan, each with extensive production credits as well as their own video production companies, worked together on various projects since 1985.

In 1996, Gayle and Arlis met with administrators of Rogue Valley Television, the public access station headquartered at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, to propose a TV show that would highlight the many cultural and outdoor recreational opportunities this area has to offer. RVTV officials immediately recognized the show's benefits to the local tourism industry, offered a  partnership, and Southern Oregon Travelogue went into its first year of production. Since then, the travelogue has logged a mind-boggling 60,000+ hours of weekend cable television coverage on RVTV.  In 1999, the travelogue web site was created to bring the rich Southern Oregon lifestyle to people world-wide, 24-7.

Gayle Wilson

Gayle Wilson

Easily one of the most recognizable faces and voices in Southern Oregon. Her television career began in 1980 as a news anchor/producer for KOBI, a Medford television station.  In 1985, she went to work for the ABC network station KGO-TV in San Francisco, but, deeply missing the quality of life Southern Oregon has to offer, she returned a year later and started up her own company, Gayle Wilson Video Productions.  Since then she has produced hundreds of video projects and enjoyed thousands of hours on television, as a spokesperson for a Grants Pass auto dealership, host of many TV shows and special events and, of course, host of Southern Oregon Travelogue.  For a complete listing of Gayle’s accomplishments, please visit her web site at www.gaylewilson.com.

Arlis Duncan

Arlis is the force behind the camera for many local video productions. Since 1987 Arlis and her company, Page One Productions, have served the local business community with her top quality video productions. You might never recognize her walking down the street but, if you watch television in: Southern Oregon or Northern California, you have seen her work and heard her enthusiastic voice.

Arlis is one of those rare fish, a native Oregonian. She brings her love of her home to every part of the Southern Oregon Travelogue. When an event of local fun or history happens in Southern Oregon, look around; you will probably see Arlis and her camera recording it for the future.

You can find out more about Arlis and Page One Productions at her website-PageOne.TV
